01
Identity
The identity block should distinguish the card from similar releases.
- Player or subject
- Sport and team
- Year, manufacturer, brand, set, and subset
- Card number
- Parallel or variation
- Serial number and print run
- Rookie, autograph, memorabilia, or insert indicators
02
Condition and grading
For raw cards, keep concise condition notes. For graded cards, capture the grading company, numeric grade, label details when relevant, and certification number.
03
Ownership and location
Record acquisition date, source, purchase cost, quantity, PC status, and physical storage location. These fields are often more useful than a constantly changing price estimate.
04
Value and movement
When a card moves, add listing platform, asking price, sale price, fees, shipping, buyer or transaction note, and sale date. Preserve the cost basis so profit and ROI are meaningful.
